This is our first year offering a Bachelor of Architecture and Future Environments. We’re excited to add a new programme to our range of study options. Students will learn to prepare and present building design projects for sustainable future environments. They’ll explore the critical, ethical, aesthetic, social and technological components of architecture. Word quickly hit the streets about the programme and we’ve received over 400 applications for this year’s intake!
This year, we’re celebrating 20 years as a university. When AUT was established we had one PhD student, a modest number of degree students and only a handful of professors and associate professors. Fast forward to today and AUT is New Zealand’s second largest university with more than 1,000 doctoral students, 30,000 students, 3,400 staff (200 professors and associate professors), and more than 100,000 alumni.
AUT quickly rose to become a globally respected university in the top 1% of universities worldwide. AUT remains committed to the vision: to provide our students with exceptional learning experiences so they can become great graduates who have the knowledge and skills to contribute to our local and global communities.
