UC School-Leaver Scholarships 2022 application round closes on 15 August 2021 at 11:59pm (NZT).
Before this deadline, please make sure that the status of your application is either “Submitted” (this status confirms the application is fully submitted, and any required references have been received) OR “Request Pending” (this status confirms the application is fully submitted, but one or more required references have not been received). If you have not submitted your application, we will not be able to consider you for any scholarships.
When deciding which scholarship/s to apply for, remember to read the regulations to ensure you are eligible to apply, and check selection criteria to see what information the selection committee will be looking at in order to award the scholarship.
If any of the scholarships you are applying for require a reference, please make sure you send the request as early as possible, and let your referee know to keep an eye out for the notification. If your status is still showing as “Request Pending” at the deadline, you may want to get in touch with your referee/s to remind them to complete and submit their reference. They have one additional week after the application deadline to submit their reference (22 August).
Please remember to ensure you only tick the “None – I only wish to be considered for the UC Hiranga Scholarship” checkbox if you do not wish to be considered for ANY other scholarships. Ticking this box will close off certain sections of the form that are not required for the assessment of UC Hiranga Scholarship applications, and those sections may be required for a number of the other scholarships. If you tick this box, and then also select other scholarships, those sections will still not display for you, which could mean your application for the other scholarships is incomplete. This warning is included on the application form, but we thought it was important to reiterate here. If you’re unsure whether you might have ticked this box by mistake, please log back into your account to check. You can still make changes to your application, even after you have submitted it – the form only locks once the application deadline has passed.
Do not withdraw your application if you have made a mistake and can’t figure out how to fix it – simply contact our office by email and we’ll do our best to help you sort things out. You should only withdraw your application if you no longer wish to be considered for any school-leaver scholarships.
